The La Gruerie estate owes its name to its history, as it was once a “Gruerie,” an institution dedicated to the management of forests. The château served as the residence for the forest keepers.

Nestled between forests and fields, the estate offers a peaceful and rejuvenating tranquility. Its owner, Jean-Philippe, embarked on bold planting projects two decades ago. Today, the park has become a lush haven, home to abundant flora and attracting diverse wildlife. It’s not uncommon, at dawn and dusk, to spot deer in the park’s corners. Rabbits have made their homes in burrows, and birds fill the air with their joyful songs.

After many years as a private property, the Château de La Gruerie now opens its doors to the public, offering a unique setting for private events and the rental of its two cottages.

The two cottages of La Gruerie emerged from the château’s former outbuilding, within a charming traditional longhouse. Far from being merely classic, these cottages have transformed into small museums blending modern and antique art. Driven by a passion for architecture and design, Jean-Philippe has curated over the years a collection of paintings and furniture from varied origins, each always imbued with a distinct artistic uniqueness.
